1928 VINTAGE 500cc RUDGE SPECIAL MOTORCYCLE

⭕ 1928 VINTAGE 500cc RUDGE SPECIAL MOTORCYCLE FOR RESTORATION.
About 80% complete, some work has been completed, for example the crank in the clear plastic box has had a complete overhaul by Martin Adams of SENCO at a cost of £392.45 and also all the bushes in the engine have been replaced (supplied by Rudge Club) and there are a new set of valves from the same source and a new rear tyre. The seat is a reproduction and I made the inverted levers using one of the originals as a pattern and the carb is an Amal I acquired that will not look out of place on the bike. As far as I am aware all the rest is 1928 Rudge apart from the front mudguard which I was told is Rudge, but it has come from a later model. The girder forks are missing the bottom shackle and spring , also tool box, exhaust downpipes, primary cover and stand are the main parts missing. Has lots of original hard to find parts such as the rear rack, petrol/oil tank and miller headlamp. The Maglita needs new bearings etc but will still kick out a spark. Has a very good piston and barrel which look as if it has had a re-bore, also quite a few spare bits, 2 more barrels/pistons, lots of clutch bits, extra brake plate with shoes etc. The paint work is poor, I was intending to re-build the bike and once running right strip the paint and re-paint. The cylinder head needs repair, I put in some new guides but when I dropped in the valves I found someone must have re-cut the seats with the old guides in and they are out of line a bit and at different depths but nothing a spot of weld couldnt sort. No V5. A rare opportunity to acquire one of the best Bikes in the World.
Sold as described.
