There is nothing like a gorgeous three dimensional silver Bohlin made saddle outfit to knock your boots off when seen in the right setting and lighting. When in the home, these magnificent works of art are still the material of dreams.

The silver saddles are the earthy stuff of exciting fantasies. There is no way to not notice them. They have brilliance, sparkle and presence.

Many collectors feel Bohlin made items are in the class of Tiffany or Cartier for western collectables. I do. The Bohlin signature marks on the bridle, martingale, bit, corona and saddle are numerous. Each piece is a masterpiece! I think the pictures speak for themselves. This saddle model is clearly shown on page 39 of the 1941 Bohlin catalog as the Bohlin Special. I firmly believe all the items are in absolute marvelous condition with only normal wear. This minimum wear is due to having been owned by a prominent physician at the famous Scripps Hospital, who was a western art collector and only had the saddle on display in his home for over 40 years. He simply never used it, as can be seen from the pictures.



1) Note the Bohlin bit and slider on the reins are all matching with the poppy conchos, which is on the saddle and equipment. This is very rare!

2) The reins have new leather, which is the only leather repair I have made.

3) The seat is 15+ inches inside measurement.


4) The exceptional floral tooling on all the leather carving is deep and matches the sterling silver concho design.

5) Mr. Bohlin stated in his 1941 catalog when describing this particular model as follows: this saddle is indeed in a class by itself and has proven to be very popular with all horsemen. He should know!
