⭕ Here we have a Model Steam Traction Engine that needs some TLC. I am selling this engine on behalf of a lady whose late husband built and used it until his passing several years ago. The lady kept this engine for sentimental reasons but is now planning to move to smaller accommodation with no garage.

Overall Lenth 43-1/2 Width 20 Hieght 30-1/2 Bore & Stroke 2 x 2-1/2 Boiler Dia. 6 Rear Wheels 16 Dia. Front Wheels 10 Dia. Weight (Estimate) 250lbs.


This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is new to Model Engineering, or just looking for a simple restoration to get them into steam. The engine will need to be stripped and cleaned, then rebuilt with minor tweaks here and there, and it would definately look better if re-painted. The good news is that the engine was in running order when the owner died. The bad news is that the steam test certificate and any other paperwork has not been kept. I cannot say if the boiler is ok without testing, but the general condition looks favorable. For the purpose of this sale consider that the boiler may need replacing. I will connect low air pressure later this week to check that there is nothing obviously out of order, and that the engine does run.


The engine turns over easily, and I can feel compression on the cylinder. There is a crank driven water pump plus an injector. The oil lubricator is also working ok. All valves and cocks are free, including the regulator. The safety valves will need testing, but look ok. Individual items on this engine ie: Castings, water pump, injector, lubricator, water gauges, gear wheels, clack valves, brass valves and cocks, bras nameplates etc. would cost a large sum if building from scratch, but everything is included with this engine.
