Sixten Ivarsson 1/4 Bent Freehand Ball Pipe * 1992 *

⭕ Up for sale is on a carefully formerly enjoyed Sixten Ivarsson pipe that was carved by the undisputed master and original Danish freehand pipe carver, Mr. Sixten Ivarsson, in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1992. If you are serious about collecting freehand pipes, you absolutely must have an Ivarsson pipe in your collection. Having collected Sixtens pipes myself, I cant even begin to tell you about the feeling of pride of ownership, and knowing that you own a pipe that was carved by a legend, perhaps, THE MOST LEGENDARY PIPE CARVER WHO EVER LIVED!
Sixten was the carver who blazed the trail for every pipe carver to come out of Denmark! Sixten was the frontrunner and the originator of organically shaped pipes - that is letting the flow of the grain determining the shape of the bowl, rather than forcing the grin to conform to a specific shape. Sixten was the first pipe carver to use other materials, such as bamboo, horn, or ivory, all of them from nature, in the adornment of his pipes. Mr. Ivarsson carved less than 100 pipes per year from about 1948 until the late 1990s. He passed away in 2000. There are no more of these masterpieces that will ever be carved by the extremely talented and legendary master Danish freehand carver. To find a Sixten Ivarsson pipe on the market is a true rare find. In our small pipe collecting community, this is like the equivalent of a Van Gogh oil painting coming to the art market! Please do not miss this rare and exciting opportunity!
The pipe that is up for sale is very beautifully mixed grained. It is smaller in its size. Sixten was not one to waste materials and I am sure that he saw a certain something in this smaller piece of briar that he wanted to capture. This pipe is perfectly engineered and promises to perform like a dream.

I have thoroughly and carefully cleaned, polished, sanitized, and rejuvenated this awesome pipe to an absolutely pristine condition. The original hand cut German vulcanite stem is free of any tooth marks, scratches, or oxidation. The bowl is very clean and crisp. The entire pipe shines like glass! The leather pouch that is pictured with this pipe is included.

Here are the dimensions of this special smaller capacity pipe: The overall length is about 5.875. The bowl height is about 1.15. The tobacco chamber is about 0.75 in diameter and tapers down the bowls 0.875 inner depth. Capacity is similar to that of a Dunhill Group 1 to 2 size pipe. At just 23 grams in weight, his pipe feels as light as a feather!

Once again, I cannot begin to tell you the pride of ownership that comes with owning a pipe like this! If you are interested, it is worth the sacrifice of doing without, perhaps five to ten average high grade pipes, in order to own an exceptional one like this! This is an investment in pride and pleasure for a lifetime - not just another pipe!
