⭕ FOR SALE BMC 1500 marine diesel engine, these engines are very sought after these days and I do not think you will find another in such good condition.This engine has been completely dismantled checked, cleaned, parts replaced where necessary and rebuilt. Please see the list below.
Externally:

New starter motor
Reconditioned Fuel Injection Pump
New Fuel Lift Pump
New Core Plugs
All the painted external parts to this engine have been stripped to bare metal. It has been primed with two coats of a heat resistant two pack and had three coats of heat resistant Stationary Paint in the correct British Leyland Colour.

Internally:

Cylinder Head
All the valves were removed and cleaned of all carbon. The stems have been checked and are well within the specified tolerances. Valve stems and rockers were lubricated with Torco Engine Lubricant to allow for an easy start up.
Injectors were removed and have had all copper and crush washers replaced.
The cylinder head face itself has had the very lightest of skims to ensure absolute flatness. (this is the correct method, rather than removing too much material resulting in compression and ignition issues)

Cylinder Block

Engine oil pump checked for marks and tolerance. Was found to be in exceptional condition and refitted after being cleaned.
The crankshaft was removed, cleaned and had main and big end bearing surfaces measured. These were found to be standard size (original). I had both the mains and big ends ground to 0.10u/s (ten thousands of an inch under size).
The camshaft was removed and checked for excessive wear. This was found to be in good condition and well has the bearings and was refitted.
The cylinder bores were visually checked for wear and measured, the bores were machined and honed to 0.30u/s (thirty thousands of an inch under size). The pistons were replaced with new 0.30o/s.
All bearing components were lubricated with Torco Engine Lubricant for initial start-up. Every gasket replaced and where necessary had Hylomar sealant as an addition.

The timing chain was checked and in fine condition.
