⭕ I could write reams on this engine (and bore anyone with all the accumulated information I have managed to find) but suffice to say it runs a dream with a solid whump that has that lovely rythmical beat that only good machinery can. Since the initial restoration I had done lots of other bits to help with rally work. Drain taps of a decent size and bore, steel milled covers (suitably aged) to go over the normally open wick oilers for the main bearings etc. Countless new parts like carburettor shafts, brass fuel caps, fuel contents float tubes and a new tank have been made but none looks out of place as they are copies of an original pattern. The trolley I made purpose built for this engine and welded it up to suit. It has a belt guide fitted to it to prevent any issues with wind lifting the bilata belt into the engines flywheel. The original starting handle has had a lovely piece of wood turned down to match as would have been fitted originally. It will come too with the water temp gauge shown (just at the top of the pix), the good long Bilata belt and the superb grain blower/dryer I purchased soon after the restoration. The timber support box for the cooling water has a storage area built into it with a slide bolt which helps to keep everything together along with a wonderful copper jug for oil drain-off. A stationary engine just running itself looks silly at shows; it needs to be running something. They were built to do a job of work not sit there running for the sake of using up fuel! Well the chance to get this grain blower came up so I had to have it at all costs. It was a pig to move so hence I made the new frame too with the wheels. Easy now to move and align with the engine but with the wheels the way they are it all sits and runs very pretty. It is a large exhibit and yet doesnt tax the engine too much so a win win situation. The original wooden drive pulley is now not used for driving but is screwed & glued together OK and sits on the front side. I managed to buy a suitable metal pulley of a larger diameter which allows the grain blower to spin up nicely. It is of course belt driven at the rear for our elf and safety at rallies!!!!!
