AMAZING PROVENANCE!


This pair of TETRA 505 speakers was owned by jazz legend HERBIE HANCOCK and used in his personal recording studio -- they were one of the studio monitors used in the recording of his POSSIBILITIES album and can be briefly seen in the background of the DVD documentary about the making of Possibilities.
These 505s are in VERY GOOD cosmetic condition and sound FANTASTIC!



When Herbie traded them in for Tetras top of the line
MODEL 606
He was kind enough to AUTOGRAPH both speakers .
Mr. Hancock paid $19,500.00 for this pair of 505s a few years ago.



Needless to say, if Herbie Hancock chose these Tetra 505s, youd assume theyd be AMAZING playing back music . . . and youd be right. Despite their modest size -- 42 inches tall without spikes -- they sound REAL BIG. They sound open and cast a deep, wide sound stage. For their size they produce some surprisingly low bass, but their best sonic virtue is their natural midrange and smooth highs.

And like any speaker used by a popular, professional musician used to playing before a LIVE audience, they can also play LOUD when asked to - they fill a room when turned up and they do it without sounding strained.

The Tetra 505 took the 2-way design to the limit and represented the maximum expression Tetras unique tetrahedron concept when they were a current model.
