⭕ Western Electric 16A Horn. With Single Throat on Each End. No 555 Drivers.

Excellent Original Condition. With very very little dents and dings.

Dimensions are 9 ft. 10/3 Meters x 51/155 cm. x 26/66 cm. Approximate Weight 325.0 lbs/150.0kg.

This is one of Western Electrics very very old horn system from the 1930s era.

Back in the days of Black and White Movies, and remember, the Silent Movies?

Then came sound and because there were always not much space behind the movie screen, Western Electric had to make a speaker/horn system that will fit the narrow passage way behind the screens.

And voila, the Western Electric 16A was created. And history was made.

Horns of this nature did not survive long in movie theaters. Soon the smaller screen theaters were expanded to accommodate a larger audience and larger and bigger horn systems were introduced.

This Western Electric 16A Horn survived a span of nearly 8 decades! It was discovered in a retired engineers house in the basement covered with dust. Believe it or not, he still remembers this 16A horn fondly. Yep. Those were the sweet days.
