⭕ Ford GPW Jeep Engine, run recently, no visible cracks or repairs, very rare to find in this condition and videos of it running.

Correct head and block, markings H 8 4 Im told by the experts equates to a casting date of August 8th 1944. Includes all ancillaries shown.

This engine was put in a farm buggy in New England sometime in the 60s, used for a while on the farm then parked. It has apparently been rebuilt in the past before my seller had it but I have no way of proving this.

The engine has been running and driving until May last year with really excellent oil pressure and compression, no rattles or horrible noises, clutch is working well. The engine was removed shortly after I bought it and carefully stored in a garage --


You could drop this engine in and use it straight away with the correct ancillaries, it will need an oil filter, the seller (who has become a friend) needed this and I agreed he could remove it. I have put a professionally made alternator mounting bracket on but I think whoever buys this will most likely fit a dynamo anyway. .

Since receiving the engine all I have done is strip most of the paint off and clean it so that the buyer can clearly see the block, nothing hidden, it would look fantastic with a coat of Ford grey paint but Ive not tried to make it look pretty the winning bidder can do that. Ive lightly sanded the head on the side in 2 places as someone had previously made marks presumably removing the head.

I have removed some of the ancillaries and covers to clean it and bought new gaskets. Ive showed photos with some bits taken off for clarity but they are back on now. I managed to snap a bolt on the manifold but thats easily replaced. The bash guard on the sump is slightly bent but easily straightened and the throttle linkage on the back needs replacing, theyre £20. I have also bought a new rotor arm, distributor cap, oil pipe and brass unions as these got damaged.
