1948 Tucker Engine/ RARE 1948 TUCKER 48 Original Engine

⭕ This is an incredible piece of automotive history! An original 1948 Tucker automobile engine that was retrieved from its 50+ year Barn/shop resting place. Tucker built 51 automobiles including the prototype. The engines used were manufactured by Aircooled Motors (which was owned by Tucker at the time). Originally designed as helicopter engines, they were fitted with water jackets, special intake manifolds, oil pan and other unique parts specifically designed for the Tucker automobile. They are UNIQUE to the TUCKER automobile. These compact, aluminum engines were 335 cubic inches, made 167 horse power, an amazing 390 lb/ft of torque and only weighed 320 pounds. Remarkable engines for the time. This is the 56th engine produced and has the original stamping clearly visible.

It has test stand hours on it and was clearly a runner before storage in 1950. It is still showing whats left of its original paint and sits on an original delivery stand. The patina shows decades of dust and peeling paint but no apparent damage. There is even a touch of clean oil that remains in the sump.
