9 Cylinder Radial Engine Model - 130cc

⭕ This is my recently completed model 9-cylinder radial engine to a design by Lee Hodgson. I am offering this model for sale as I have since completed a second similar model to the same design.

This model is constructed mainly of aluminum, steel, stainless steel and bronze, and took well over 1000 hours to build.

The cylinders are 1 bore x 1.25 stroke, giving a total displacement of approximately 130 cc. The pushrods are open, operating two overhead valves per cylinder. Pressure lubrication to the crankshaft bearings and cam drive gearing is by crankshaft driven gear type pressure and scavenge pumps, the oil recirculating from the dry sump back to the combined oil/fuel tank. There are two compression rings and one oil control ring per cylinder. The valve operating cam is hardened steel. The majority of the fasteners are stainless steel.

Ignition is electronic, powered by a 4-AA cell rechargeable battery pack. (Charger included).

The engine uses regular gasoline.

A 24 long cooling club is fitted to provide the necessary cooling airflow to the air-cooled cylinders.

Overall dimensions are 18 long x 15 wide x 14 high, and the weight is approximately 21 lbs.

The engine has had only a relatively short time running, and the performance will improve as the running-in process progresses.

Radial engines tend to be rather oily, and oil may settle into the two lower cylinders after running, requiring the removal of the spark plugs in these two cylinders to enable any collected oil to drain before turning the engine over again, to avoid possible damage to the engine due to hydraulic lock.

As the buyers use of this model is completely beyond the control of the seller, the buyer most assume all responsibility for its use. It is not intended for any purpose other than as a working model.
