CURTIS AND CROCKER BIPOLAR ELECTRIC FAN MOTOR

⭕ Very nice unrestored Curtis and Crocker bipolar electric fan motor. This is an example of what was probably the worlds first electrically-operated household appliance. It runs on 110 volts DC, which was the house current in lower Manhatten at the time it was manufactured in the early 1890s. It has 1/8 HP according to the manufacturers tag. The front and rear armature supports are non-magnetic and appear to be brass that has been painted. It has a claw-footed cast iron base with three feet. It measures approximately 10 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide (at the front feet).
