Made in Switzerland by STUDER/REVOX Corp,. since 1961, the first model came out.

This is 2-track version of its big brother, also the legend, STUDER J37 (Multi-track recorder) and has exactly the same deck design and electronics as J37 and so just called KING of 2 tracks studio Reel to Reel tape machine. Considered to be one of the best tube reel to reels ever made.

The build quality is just incredible and boasts a recording frequency of 20Hz to 17KHz +-2db on 7.1/2 or 15 ips, and wow-flutter is +- 0,075% for 15 inch. truly absolute innovation at that time and still offers amazing and fresh lovely warm tube sound today.

I have checked all the main functions of the unit.

Visually, the unit is not in perfect or mint outer condition and has general handling and storage wears but I think its in pretty decent condition for 50 years old historic machine.

Functionally, this unit is working great and all the function of the unit is perfectly operational as originally intended to be.

• Transport mechanism (like Fast forward/Rewind/Playback/Recording) are fully operational.

• Electronics (like button lamps,internal Osram bulb and automatic scissors) are perfectly functional

• All tubes for Playback/Recording module has been recently replaced with original Philips SQ E188EC tubes(except one Valvo tube) and plays flawlessly.


• Tests for Playback and Recording are successful and the unit can records sound well from my CD player and also reproduce sound to my bookshelf speaker without any problems. and I think a proper cleaning and refurbishment will give this unit its 100% factory quality and performance. a great working unit~!!!!!

Although the unit has been checked and tested thoroughly and the result was almost flawless enough. I strongly suggest you to replace the playback/recording head block for the sound improvement because its life-cycle has been already expired. (you can find brand new unused playback head in my other auction, a truly rare as hens teeth)

Now that C37 is a complex and old piece of gear, I can not give you any warranty, so sold AS IS.
