⭕ 1938 Harley Davidson LE sidecar with all connecting hardware
Restored in 1969. I added a reproduction windshield with frame and apron.
I learned that it was complete only missing 2 horizontal stainless steel strips on each side of the tub body and missing 2 mounting brackets which go inside the sidecar to secure the spare tire carrier. Also, I learned that the tires are original Goodyear 4.00-18 made during WWII and should be used for display only. I was told that the paint color is probably not correct. The stripes are not correct. I believe that, except for the items mentioned the sidecar is complete and mostly original, including the seat which is in great condition. The back of the seat still has the built by Chas. Abtresch Co. Milwaukee Wis. decal.The fender is damaged. I tried to show the stress crack at the step and the paint gouges at the outside top of the fender. The paint has chips, scratches, cracks and scuffs. It looks old. The tub body is in good condition, no dents or rust. The frame is in good condition with some surface rust.
