1961 GIBSON ES-355 TD STEREO W ORIGINAL GIBSON P.A.F. HUMBUCKERS

⭕ Here is one truly incredible guitar: an authentic 1961 Gibson ES-355 TD with two original mind-blowing Gibson P.A.F. humbuckers! The serial number on this beauty is 402XX, which is located both on the back of the headstock and printed on the orange Gibson label inside the body.

The guitar is in immaculate condition for its age, with no lacquer checking anywhere on the guitar. The original Cherry finish is simply stunning, and shows the beautiful natural wood grain ever so slightly on both the top and back. It came from the collection of a fairly accomplished and now retired studio musician, who happened to make his living mostly by playing bass.

Several changes have been made to the guitar. First, the guitar has been professionally refretted. Additionally, the guitar came originally with the infamous Gibson Side-winder Vibrato with side-way action, but was replaced early in its life with a gold trapeze tailpiece. Some time later the original owner decided to reinstall the side-winder vibrato and had it replated before he put it back on the guitar - you can easily see this in the pictures below. It is, however, the original Gibson side-winder vibrato that came with the guitar in 1961. The gold trapeze tailpiece is also included with the guitar.

When he reinstalled the original vibrato, the owner also replaced the gold selector ring under the varitone switch. The original selector ring is also included with the guitar, and can be seen in the pictures below. He also purchased new black pickup rings, but never installed them. However, they are also included with the guitar.

The original Gibson gold P.A.F. humbuckers are exactly what youd expect ... the best sounding, most balanced pickups youve ever heard in your life! What else can we say about them that hasnt already been said? Just about every humbucker pickup introduced after 1962 has tried to replicate the sound of the original Gibson P.A.F.s, but with little success. These are the real deal, and they sound truly amazing and as good as youd expect. You can see close-up shots of both pickups below.
