Unit came from an all-digital Meridian Home Theater & Music system you will find in my other auctions. The matching G68 preamp/processor, DSP7000 Front Speakers in a stunning Ferrari Red, DSP5500HC Center Channel, and DSP33 Rears were all part of a State of the Art home theater and music system.

General Description of how a Meridian all Digital System works:
The G98 DVD transport feeds a proprietary digital output called MHR Smart Link to the G68 processor. This high-speed data link allows Meridian to get increased performance over conventional digital coaxial outputs when both Meridian Player and Processor are used. It also allows DVD Audio to be transferred Digitally from the Player to the Processor again increasing performance as most players have only analog 6 channel outputs for this. Once the signal has been processed by the G68, up-sampled 24/96 digital is transferred to the Meridian Digital speakers. The internal 24/96 DACs in the speakers convert the digital information back into a music signal - then pass this to the built-in amplifiers, which drive the speakers woofers mids tweeters into movie or music bliss.
