EARLY FRENCH GILT DORE BRONZE CLOCK AMOR ANGEL CHERUB

⭕ French Empire circa 1820 fire gilded dore table clock depicting Amor fleeing with time. The case is very well made with fine detailed bronze work all around the case. The small caliber brass movement use a silk thread suspension. Marking on the movement indicates the clock was exported from France near the turn of the 19th-20th centuries and bears the mark of the exporter CJ CC as required by US law during that period. The mentioned markings are shown in the photos. The porcelain enamel dial is and has blue hour markers. This is a fine period clock and well documented in Tardys FRENCH CLOCKS THE WORLD OVER and Niehusers FRENCH BRONZE CLOCKS as well as other bronze and clock books.
The pendulum is included although not photographed.
