JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD 950 SILVER 6 PIECE TEA & COFFEE SET


⭕ This listing is for a Japanese Meiji Period 6 piece 950 silver tea and coffee set. The set weighs a total of 149 troy ounces.

The set is decorated with heavily raised floral work on the bodies. The handles and spouts are decorated with a leaf pattern. The handle of the tea pot is in the form of a dragon. The pieces are all marked with the character mark jungin meaning pure silver. This mark was primarily used during the Meiji Period (1868-1912).
This set dates to about 1900.

The coffee pot measures 11 inches or 28 cm high to the top of the finial, and is 8 ¼ inches wide from handle to spout. The tea pot is 9 inches or 23 cm high to the top of the handle. The tray measures 21 ¼ inches or 54 cm wide from handle to handle. The silver has been tested and is guaranteed to be .950 quality, a higher grade of silver then Sterling wich is .925. This includes the tray which is not marked but is also .950 grade silver. Again, guaranteed.


The set is in excellent condition. There is some darkening to the silver.
