⭕ Classic Mini Cooper S MK 1, 2, 3 1293 Engine & Gearbox

Up for sale is a gorgeous Classic mini A series Bill Richards built 1293 Fast road engine and gearbox

Brief description I had this built last year when I owned a mk3 cooper S

I spent some time researching the correct person to build an engine and box for my cooper s I decided bill was the right person for this as he currently still racing track and historic Monte Carlo road racing also he was a former employee of Bmc Special tuning dept what a great career !

The original engine was knackered, so I set about searching for the correct thick flange block this was sourced from Southam mini centre the block was step linered by Simon who works there I also sourced a correct 4 synchro 12G1128 gearbox from a MK 2 s with Hardy spicer diff with a final drive of 3:4:1 and the correct gearing 1040 lay gear s ratio box.

I wanted something more than a std 1275 so myself and Bill discussed at some length about what we can build 1293 fast road was built, this is the same as Bills Monte Carlo mini, expected Bhp 100 plus,

Bill also overhauled. The gearbox any thing that the engine and box needed this got it !

This was completed September last year and since changing jobs the S got neglected and the everything except an engine was sold earlier this year.???? the chap didnt want the engine as he already had one so here we are .

Correct MK 2/3 S gearbox

1128 4 synchro S ratio g/ box with hardy spicer outputs tranex twin pin diff 3:4:1 final drive for remote type change

Central oil pick up

Electronic ignition with correct no vac advance distributor 23D4 type with modification

Correct S thick flange block

Plus 20 overbore with mini spares Ae mega Pistons

Arp bolts set for con rods

Crank AEG 480 EN40B

Ultralight steel flywheel with orange diaphragm steel back plate

Correct S crank damper

Cylinder Head 11 stud 12G 940 pre A plus 12g1805 race inlet 36 mm exhaust 30mm

pb105 valve guides

Piper valve springs

Camshaft billet x drill Md286

Ultralight followers

This has a compression ratio of 11:1

Refurbished set of special tuning H4 twin 1 1/2 SU carbs on 12G 2463 (AEG 573 ) square flange manifold these are gorgeous and have the correct set ups for this motor as spec by Bill during the Build

Also with the Engine comes with a NOS special tuning oil cooler and correct S pipes new mini spares 2 core S radiator new fan blade correct S rad cowling and S bracketry and updated mini spares engine mounts new hoses rebuilt Dynamo and new belt, bill also modified and fitted updated later A+ oil pump skimmed and decked the head,

Updated coil fitted new

New Rc40 single box and centre pipe also Maniflow exhaust manifold with a larger centre pipe to get rid of those gases quicker

The engine comes with everything after the 200 mile run in period

New millers oil filter and plugs

Spare antifreeze

Correct throttle cable and choke cable and speedo cable original

Also the engine is leaded so there is a bottle of lead additive with the new sale

Rebuilt inertia starter motor.
