⭕ Jaguar E Type 3.8 and 4.2 Litre Factory Accessory Hardtop. This is a genuine Jaguar hardtop correct for all Series 1 and Series 2 open two seater cars. Absolutely complete with all mounting brackets, chrome trim and the rare original rear Perspex glass. This hardtop stayed with the 1966 roadster it came with from the factory, only being installed on the body a handful of times in its 46 year existence. The chrome is original needing only a gentle polish to be show condition. The rear window is very clear with only minor scratches that would polish out well. The unobtainium rear glass two piece chrome trim is excellent, the window never been removed. All cantrail chrome trim is present and in excellent condition along with the header trim. The headlining is ever so slightly soiled and dusty from extended storage but would clean up to look virtually new. It is slightly creamy in appearance as it should be with no holes or damage, just very minor rubs marks from the few times it was installed. The gloss black paint is very good and would be perfect for a 2+ grade driver, but would probably need a respray for concours events as it exhibits minor cracking just above the header chrome. Most people would not notice this unless pointed out to them. All in all this is one of the nicest original Jaguar factory hardtops I have ever seen and is a rare opportunity to purchase a turn key hardtop. Most units being offered are mostly garbage, missing extremely hard to find components. The successful bidder is responsible for any and all logistics in connection with the crating and shipping of this hardtop.
