Rare Boyer Paris Saphir Lens

⭕ Boyer Paris Saphir 50mm f1.4 Lens
Legendary and Rare French M39 Enlarger Lens
For sale is a very rare lens made by the renowned French company Optique Boyer in Paris. The lens being sold is the Boyer Saphir 50mm f1.4, a fast 50mm prime lens with a maximum aperture of 1.4. Its very well built and made completely out of metal and heavy glass, bringing the total weight up to a whopping 300grams. For a relatively small lens with a maximum diameter of 6cm, thats quite heavy. The lens features an M39 mount, meaning that it can easily be adapted for use on modern cameras.

The lens is in very good condition, with only minor signs of wear. There are no scratches or dents on the outside, only very minor brassing on the edges. The rear and front glass elements are impeccable, with no scratches or cleaning marks as far as the eye can tell. No fungus or haze either. The aperture ring is really smooth and features steps on all different aperture settings, but is also half stepless (so you can set the aperture in between f1.4 and f2.8 for example). There are a few minor grease spots on a few of the blades, but they do not cause any issues. It comes with the original Boyer front lens cap, original red Boyer cardboard box and a Balda branded rear cap.
