⭕ This is somewhat the Holy Grail of production classic Rover V8s . No its not some nitrous injected monster but if you were looking for a top spec 3.5 litre RV8 back in the day you wanted the best performance and newest spec available which was fitted to the Rover SD1 Vitesse.

This was a higher compression version of the usual 3.5 SD1 RV8 and as such was rated with more power which came from the high comp pistons and improved heads etc.

This setup was saved from an abandoned kit car project where by the previous owner had done all of the hard work of personally sourcing and preparing both the engine and box for fittment as well as ensuring all of the hard to find pieces needed to get a RV8 into your motor are present.

In my opinion there is no better choice of classic V8 for a British classic car seeing as many car manufacturers such as Rover , Triumph , MG etc fitted the RV8 as a factory option from the end of the 1960s till the 2000s!

This engine is a classic and can simply be dated with certification of its date of manufacture via the Land Rover heritage centre to enable historic emission standards etc to be applied to this engine when under going a MOT / SVA or similar test.

The Rover V8 is a light weight all alloy engine and more often than not is much lighter in weight than the original 4 or 6 cylinder engine you remove. This gives it an excellent power to weight ratio and greatly improves the front end handling on your car.
