Western Electric WE300B,Vintage 300B Matched Pair 1950s

⭕ These tubes were purchased as a matched pair some Ten years ago from Antique Electronic supply they have been used only for a few hours (to check for sonic quality) and come from a pet and smoke free environment. Both have their original boxes and one has its original data sheet. Tubes were tested on a Amplitrex AT1000 and a TV-7/DU, results are as shown in the photographs. The white stickers on the tube bases are easily removed and mean nothing other than a way of identification.

There are no date codes on these tubes and 1947 - 1956 is my best guess from information found on the internet. Features large round halo getter, plain engraved base.

Both tubes were installed in a high end amplifier playing through Wilson Audio loudspeakers and they sound wonderful, detailed smooth warm and lush. Possibly the best pair of 300Bs I have heard in a long time, you will not be dissapointed.

Tubes have engraved basses, original boxes, original specification sheet and Amplitrex printouts of test results and tube curves.

The 300B is a filamentary type triode designed for use as an audio-frequency power amplifier. Originally designed by Bell Laboratories for theatre applications, the Western Electric 300B is regarded as possibly the finest electron tube ever manufactured for high fidelity audio amplification. Audiophiles praise the 300B for its low noise, sonic purity, and long life when utilized in single-ended triode amplifiers and other amplifier designs. Due to its exceptional performance, the 300B has remained the tube of choice among amplifier designers.
