Komax kappa 240, an automatic stripper for large-gauge stranded wires of 14AWG to 3/0AWG with max outside diameter of 1.181 inch and cut length range from .039 inch to over 650 feet. From small to large batch processing, the kappa has a maximum feed rate of 78 inches/second and offers a broad range of processing capabilities that is ideal for ETIs manufacturing processes of repeatability and flexibility that customers expect and demand. The broad range of wire processing capabilities makes the kappa 240 versatile to handle most single and multi-conductor cable and wire. When processing extremely difficult wires, such as very soft insulation, the optional length measurement system can be used to ensure that even the toughest standards of repetition accuracy can be met. With the programmable slitting head, stripping lengths on both sides of up to 39 inches can be achieved. The insulation or shield remains on the conductor and can be easily removed manually when it comes time for further processing. The advantage of this approach is that the wire material is protected by the insulation up to the last moment. Intermediate or multi-step stripping can also be carried out with the slitting head at up to 4 positions of the operators choice.
