⭕ Julius Futterman Stax Earspeaker OTL Tube Amp with Stax SR-X MK2 and SP 3 Earspeakers.

I had the good fortune of knowing Julius Futterman in the mid 1970s, and at my request, he custom build this one off OTL Stax Earspeaker Amplifier for me to power four sets of Stax Six Pin Standard Bias Earspeakers and additionally, at my special request, he enclosed the (hand made and hand wired) amp in a nice attractive, well ventilated, metal cabinet with a bright aluminum faceplate. I took delivery of this amp just a few years before Julius passed away in 1979. Since taking delivery, the amp and my two sets of Stax Earspeakers have had little use - less than 100 hours total - and every part and tube, etc., in the amp is original. Unlike many of the early Stax Earspeakers, the leather earpads on both pairs of the Stax Earspeakers are in like new condition with no signs of wear or leather degradation from exposure and use over time. Any Julius Futterman OTL Tube Stax amp is very rare, indeed, but this one is the rarest of them all. This amp was truly another one of Juliuss historic achievements. I tested the amp and both pairs of earspeakers just prior to writing this description and all perform to my ears, at least, as well as they did when they were new back in the mid 70s.
