1071 Cooper S Engine

⭕ For sale is my 1071 cooper s engine that was in my Mk 3 Cooper S that I bought 19years ago. (I know that the 1071 was only ever fitted to Mk 1 Cooper S models between 1963 and 1964 and only just over a thousand units were made).
It has the later 12G940 casting head and A+ type rockers. The gearbox is a really good clean casting and is what I believe to be an innocenti gearbox. There is a number stamped into the front of the casing but it is not a number I recognise.
When I purchased the car I was told that it was a 1071 and that it had a 649 camshaft in it. I believe this to be true as the power came in at around 4,000 rpm and the car pulled strongly thereafter. The oil pressure was excellent as was the temperature. It has the high capacity cast iron water pump.
The only work I have done on the engine was to replace all the core plugs after one rusted through thats all that I can remember doing.
I only kept it in the car for a short time because I had trouble selecting third gear I think I only covered about 350 miles with it and then I took the whole thing out. The engine has been under my work bench in a dry warm garage for the last 12 years at least, waiting for the day I could have it rebuilt but I have realised that this will never happen. It turns over freely.
I know how much these engines are worth.
I will answer any sensible questions.
