⭕ A 4 inch scale freelance tandem steam centre engine as used for driving steam gallopers. It is also fitted with an auxiliary vertical steam engine for driving the dynamo. It is around three feet long and is very easy for one person to handle.It has a steel boiler which was examined on 28/6/2013, external condition classed as very good, internal condition classed as good, small wastage to firebox crown. No repairs required.
The boiler and cylinders are lagged with hardwood, the latter exposed, Victorian style. It has all of the features you would expect on the full size item, such as the eccentric driven boiler feed pump, whistle etc. It picks up its own water from the vintage 5 gallon drum as shown.There is also a mechanical lubricator included of two piston oscillating type. The engineering in the motion is really quite fascinating and there is plenty going on when it is running. There is plenty of copper and brass to polish and this would make a perfect rally exhibit, driving whatever you fancy. I am only selling as bigger toys have stopped it being out on the show circuit.
