⭕ For sale is our cream Rayburn 345W wood fired stove in excellent condition with capacity for cooking, hot water and central heating. It was bought new and installed in December 2008 and since has been our sole source of hot water and heating for a family of four, plenty of guests and a fairly well insulated 200m2 house. Total heat output is rated at 10.4 kW with 3.7 - 4.1 kW to space and 6.3-6.8 kW to water. We have it plumbed into a twin coil cylinder with solar hot water.

We are sad to sell what has been the heart of our home for five years. The reason for selling is that we are both now working and this makes it difficult to tend the fire. It is possible to lock the fire down in the morning or night and burn slowly for 6-8 hours but we have found that while it works, it was perfect with someone at home to feed every 2-3 hours at maximum output and less at lower output. We think leaving it for the day is entirely feasible with a smaller house (and getting up early to get it roaring before leaving!).

Some things to consider:

The oven is a dream to cook on with even temperatures for bread and cakes, moisture retention for roasts and slow all day cooking for casseroles. The oven cleans itself through carbonising spills. Hotplate includes hot and simmer sides. The fire can be drawn to the hot water baffles or around the oven depending on needs, but when the Rayburn is hot both work well. Our 250L cylinder takes 2 hours from scratch to heat before the central heating comes on. Then we have been powering up to 6-8 radiators for a 200m2 house. If you are at home it has done this easily with wood feeds of around 1.5 - 2.5 hourly. The output to the room is lovely.
