⭕ Up for sale is a Fine and Very Rare 19th Century Chinese 24k Filigree Gold & Carved Hornbill Brooch. This brooch is an exquisite example that is superbly detailed throughout. The brooch has a central plaque that is intricately carved of hornbill. The brooch is 24k solid gold with a superb filigree gold design. The brooch also has bird figures with bottom hanging tassels. There are some minor nicks to the hornbill that can only be noticed upon very close inspection. For its age the brooch is in very fine condition with no filigree gold losses, or repairs. The brooch is a nice practical size for wearing measuring 2 1/8 inches wide, by 2 3/4 inches long including the base tassels, and 5/8s of an inch thick. The brooch weights 21.2 grams. The brooch came from the estate with its original period carved fitted box, that is a very fine rarity on its own. The box has a finely carved scenic cartouche.
