Bettini Phonograph A Bettini Reproducer On Class M Deck

⭕ Edison cylinder class M deck on an Early home machine with a Bettiini type D reproducer. This is a very rare machine. It looks like a banner home but at some stage the word Bettini has been put over the word Home. This is very proffesionally done and most likely when it was sold at some stage in its life. The deck is from an Electric M with the lugs for the pully still in place. It has the thicker back bar of the early M. which fits the model D Bettini reproducer. The serial number is 9602. So This is an early style home with a Electric M top minus the the Governor section. I undersdtand that around 1894 the North American Company went banckrupt. The parts still remaning were fitted to other motors untill about 1896-7. This machine also has a plate on the front that says THIS MACHINE IS SOLD BY THE NORTH AMERICAN PHONOGRAPH COMPANY UNDER THE RESTRICTION THAT IT SHALL NOT BE USED WITHIN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY.I understand that this was to keep Edison and Columbia from selling in the market that North American was selling into. The D was the second style of Bettini reproducer possibly made for a short time around 1899. They are quite rare. By 1901 Bettiini had standaredized on the model N and the cheaper model P. The machine is in very good condition.
