⭕ This BR Standard Class 5-73000 was a model I bought very recently with the intention of getting it professionally repainted to a fine standard and then selling it on. (The model definitely needs a repaint)

However,this week it was given a boiler hydraulic test prior to the visit of the boiler inspector only for a problem to arise in the firebox.

With a full boiler of cold water there were no visible leaks in the firebox but under pressure two tubes were seen to have a tiny leak and also a faint damp patch on the adjacent seam...It is the type of leak that only shows under pressure and when in steam it takes upso that the loco can carry on being steamed with the problem undetected until its next hydraulic boiler test.
