⭕ This is a Japanese WWll Army officers sword in mountings. The blade is signed O Tamura-shi no ju, Ka saku (order by Mr. Tamura), shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period made blade. Kas real name is Shibata Masataro, was born in Akita prefecture in 1884 made swords as a Gendai smith, listed in John Sloughs book page 36 and rated 1.5 Million yen. Ka died on March, 1953. The blade is traditional hand forged, in full polish, no rust, no stain and in mint condition. The temper line is wavy gunome with choji temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep o-maru temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge is razor sharp. The scabbard is heavy metal scabbard, no dent, no bend, no lacquer loss and in mint condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no loose, no cut also in mint condition. Lock mechanism works fine. It measures 27+1/4 tip to the guard, 26+1/4 cutting edge, 1+3/16 width, 7 mm thickness at the notch and 40+1/4 in mountings.
