1961 AKG C12 Microphone, U2 Switch & N12 PSU

⭕ Up for sale is for one of the most desirable female vocal and orchestral recording microphones ever built: the original AKG C12 tube microphone with the original U2 pattern switch and original N12 power supply. This is the real deal!

The microphone has the legendary brass CK12 capsule and it performs perfectly and flawlessly -- it passes my breath test. Here are a couple of close-ups without the head grille: click here and here. I have thoroughly auditioned it through my Studer 961 console before listing it for sale - It has an extremely dynamic and quiet Siemens E81CC tube which has 25% higher gain than the normal 6072A used in C12s and the same low noise floor. The mic therefore has excellent gain, very low noise and easily shows off its signature presence through the characteristic 5K and 8K bumps.

It comes in a non-original case and all 3 necessary cables. The power cable has a slightly cracked but fully functional connector on the PSU end and a super duty German outlet plug on the other. Mic to pattern switch and pattern switch to XLR out complete the outfit. The PSU has six switchable voltages between 110 -- 245 VAC and I use it on 245 VAC exclusively. No -- the Studer 961 console in the pictures is not included in this sale!
