Its a truly breathtaking, beautiful clock. The clock has a solid mahogany hardwood base with the lacquered piano finish and the hand blown glass dome that has the large engraved/etched Patek Philippe Calatrava logo. This scratch free glass enclosure allows an unobstructed, 360 degree view of the entire brass clock while preserving it from the environment it has been displayed in. The opulent open dial is in 18K gold plated, hand tooled solid copper. This precise instrument of time features the highly accurate quartz regulated all German made movement. The exposed, visible and highly intricate gear train system features the month and zodiac disc indicator, hours and minutes, sun, moon and a crystal representation of the Earth, all of which reproduce the annual orbit of the Earth around the sun, with the Earth rotating around its own axis once every 24 hours while the moon revolves around the Earth in 29.5 days, completing a full rotation around its axis. In the course of one year the Earth passes all the twelve zodiac signs, months and individual days which are indicated on the highly polished solid brass disc.
