Gibson Banner J-45 Vintage Acoustic Guitar

⭕ Here we have a 1942 firestripe J-45. This batch number is not listed in the Gibson Banner registry but that is not the only thing rare about this significant guitar. The condition is outstanding with no apparent cracks and appears to me to be all original with minor exceptions of tuner buttons, saddle and bridge pins. Seldom have I seen one in this condition. It has been played but obviously with loving care. The sound is beyond anything I have ever heard in a J-45. It is woody, quite loud with excellent sustain, but refined in a way most Gibsons arent. And when you pick up this instrument, the first thing you notice is the vibe of a hand-made guitar. It sounds much more like a pre-war Martin in that respect. I could tell you that in my life. I have owned pre-war J-200s, J-35s, Nick Lucas etc, not to mention a 1942 D-45 Martin. With no reservation I can tell you this is one of the top 5 guitars I have ever owned. Economic realities are the only reason for selling. Other condition details are: minor fingerboard wear, fret wear that at some point will require a re-fret, and action that is 4/32s on the bass string at the 12th fret. The neck is straight and there is almost no bellying or warping of any significance. The bridge has not been cut down but left the factory low and the saddle is as short as you would want it.
