Zimmermann Upright 1980s German Piano

⭕ This Zimmermann Upright Piano was made between 1986 - 87 in Germany. It was recently reconditioned and tuned to A440 concert pitch. It is a solid and reliable piano with a classic aesthetic, with a characteristic sound suited towards jazz and traditional music. It has a full iron frame and a full size 88 keys keyboard, in addition to 2 pedals. As part of the restoration, our in house technicians have reshaped the hammers and the piano has over strung dampers. Furthermore, the pianos mechanism has been serviced and the casework treated to bring it back to its original condition.

Zimmermann is a German piano maker and brand name, whose founder worked for Steinway & Sons in New York City, United States, before starting his own factory in Leipzig, Germany, in 1884. As business grew, the Zimmermann company expanded to a second factory in 1904. By 1912 over 10,000 pianos were being built a year making it one of the Europes largest piano manufacturer. Later, it became a global piano exporter within over 400,000 instruments sold world-wide. In 1992, C. Bechstein took over the company and incorporated it in its Product Range. Modern Zimmerman pianos are produced in Saxony like all Bechstein Instruments, where the Bechstein Company has regrouped its production facilities.

Near the more economical end of upright pianos, Zimmermann Pianos still have considerable quality and tone, especially when compared to other pianos of its price. The classic dark Mahogany case with a satin finish is hard wearing, and displays few signs of age. The piano has a medium to bright tone, suited towards jazz and traditional music, with a medium touch.
