⭕ Bob Marrs dabbled in saddle making prior to 1954, but did not buy his Stockmans Saddle Shop and go into business making the saddles that made him famous under Stockmans Saddle Shop until August 1954. This saddle is the FIRST saddle order taken by Mr. Marrs. You may come across a saddle that he had his hands on in the early days - but it isnt the first saddle order under his world renowned business, Stockmans Saddle Shop in Amarillo. This is the one true first order saddle order from August 1954.


Mr. Marrs has provided me with a letter of authentication and a copy of the original invoice from the order. I have attached a copy of the invoice, and the letter of authentication from Mr. Marrs. You can clearly see Mr. Marrs notes indicating that this is the first saddle order. I can also tell you about the man who ordered the saddle and his interesting story!


Bob Marrs was inducted into the hall of fame and is a world renowned saddle maker. He never sold his saddles in stores. Each saddle was a specific order made for the buyer. If you wanted to (or could - he doesnt make saddles anymore) a Bob Marrs custom saddle would sell brand new for approximately $4,000.00. The historic value and investment that this saddle represents is significant. Bob Marrs didnt start numbering his saddles until 1960.


As you can see by looking at this saddle, it is in GREAT condition. I had it on my horse just last week. To ride on a piece of history, that by the way, fits like a glove is an amazing thing. Everything is original on this saddle, no repairs or replacements - all original. You can see by the fleece that its just amazing!


The saddle itself has a 15 seat and all the specs are on the invoice itself.
