⭕ This sale is for an incredibly rare and amazing art pottery stein. The rare stein is technically part of the book series made by Mettlach back in the early 1890s that was created to celebrate different occupations, like Miner and Lawyer. This one is a very limited, very special order, custom stein that was made specifically for Cornell University. The side of the stein has several book spines with different titles hand painted on them - each stein they created is slightly different and this one kind of has an Engineering theme. The insert on the lid has an image of Ezra Cornell and it has a neat owl finial handle. The stein is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks but there is some powder residue that needs some brushing or cleaning off - I think someone thought the pewter was silver and tried to polish it. The inside has some slight discoloration to the porcelain, but thats just from age. Really an amazing piece and it was found in a local estate where its been for all its life, so its new to the market. The bottom is marked Mettlach Villeroy & Boch 2001. Measures about 6¾ to the top of the owl. GUARANTEED ORIGINAL!
