Twin 2003 MerCruiser 496 MAG HO/425 Horsepower Stern Drive Engines


⭕ Twin 2003 MerCruiser 496 MAG HO/425 horsepower stern drive engines. The engines have MerCruiser closed cooling systems (fresh water cooled). They were removed from a 40 Formula cruiser.


The port stern drive struck a submerged object and the impact broke the coupler. The broken coupler shattered the flywheel housing. A piece of the flywheel housing struck and holed the transom plate. The boat started to take on water as a result. The captain called a MAYDAY and was rescued by SeaTow. The boat was pumped out and towed to shore where the engines were removed and started by a local marina.
