Four Cylinder Triple Expansion Marine Steam Engine


⭕ A finely engineered model of a four cylinder triple expansion marine steam engine.

High pressure bore is .625 dia

Intermediate bore is .750 dia

Both low pressure bores are 1.032 dia. .Engine stroke is 1.000

The crankshaft is balanced on the Yarrow Schlick and Tweedy principle and the engine runs very smoothly indeed.

The Stephenson link reverse is operated via a rack and pinion mechanism. The rack also serves to operate an engine direction dial located on the column next to the reversing wheel.

The crosshead shoes are located onto the crossheads by tiny dovetail slides.

Dimensions of the mahogany base are 11 long by 6 3/8 wide and the overall height of the model on its base is 8 1/2
