⭕ This 1950s Garrard 301 S/N 5336 51400 / 1 Early Grease Bearing & SME 3009 were incorporated into this sand ballast plinth by Abbey Road in 1963. The Abbey Road studio technician acquired a 3009 and incorporated them into a solid updated unit that could be moved easily in the studios demanding listening suite. The unit was offered and accepted on first refusal in 1971 to the same technician when the studio had a refit and was subsequently purchased by the last owner in 1973 who acquainted with the technician. It is in excellent condition with very little wear indeed.
