SME 3012 Series I A 1, 12 Inch Transcription Tonearm


⭕ Very rare 1959-60s vintage SME 3102, 12 transcription tonearm, complete with cable and screening can. Plug and Play!
Beautiful condition and in good working order - it has been play tested extensively without any problem.


This arm belongs to the first generation of tonearms produced by the Scale Model Equipment Company Limited, England (SME).

The first generation was introduced in 1959 and produced for a very short time only, before the more lightweight Series II arms saw the light of day. The initial production volume is said to have been only 25 arms/week, with all separate components machined individually. Very rarely seen in this condition, this arm is one of the very finest sounding tonearms ever made (to my ears) . It plays with tremendous authority and presents music in a very elegant and involving manner.
