Here is a very RARE early GORGE cased carriage clock, ( circa 1860s ) strike, REPEATER and alarm, with FOUR porcelain SEVRES panels in front, BOTH sides and REAR door...The clock is an early GORGE model with SOUND slots in the base to allow the sound of the chimes to come through, when it strikes on the halves and hours..The clock also repeats the previous hours when pressing the repeater button down on top of the clock...The clock is very heavy and well made and a good size at almost 7.5 tall and over 4 wide. The original silvered bi metallic lever platform esapement works lovely and the clock works lovely over its 8 day period....The panels are lovely depicting cherubs with bows and arrows and classical 18th century scenes and village scenes with ladies, streams, bridges and countryside and buildings in background and still in lovely condition....The thick bevalled glass panels are again lovely condition...This clock is lovely to look at and hear and rarely come onto the market with RARE porcelain panels from this period and very collectable today...Comes with key.
