This is my ultracool Gretsch 6120...

The guitar is in fine EX+ condition and conforms to the typical specifications of the model for the period in which it was made, with single cutaway body construction of laminated maple, open F-holes, maple neck with dark center lamination, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with perloid humptop block inlays, perloid Gretsch and horseshoe-shaped peghead inlays, white binding on the neck and body edges, two single.coil DeArmond pickups, gold plated open-back tuners, Chet Atkins logos back-painted with gold colour, gold-plated brass volume knobs, original cowboytheme hard shell case with white exteriour-covering and tooled leather edge trim, original cowboy strap, original papers. Ser.No. XXXXX

This is as cool as a Duane Eddy 6120 can be. The guitar has been sold originally on 11th June of 1957. The guitars serial number is 25012 within the guitar. The salesmen wrong read the number 2 and missprinted 4 instead and the sales contract is 45012 including the warranty card, 11th June 1957...The guitar was decades later sold by Willies guitar as 1956 Gretsch 6120, No G-Brand, just like Duanne Eddy, all original EC+, complete with papers and harshell case. The Gruhn appraisal sais it is a 1957 Gretsch from the S/N. Anyway, it may be a changeover 56/57 and with Gretsch you never know. This can be because of the special peghead. look at the two dots in the pics - its not a repair, it simply came like this with the two dots asymetrically placed around the low and high tuner! No pro speciallist I ever contacted did have any knowledge about it except that its typically Gretsch...The guitar is in beautifull great shape and in perfect playable condition, very clean, it has a few minor nicks, some laquer checking at lower neck , no scratches, no repairs, no mods and is a true collector item. The pots are a bit hard to turn from little use, but perfectly working - no mods, no contact enhancers or deoxides, no overpaints - nothing - and just like it has been sold in 1957. Completely original. The only flaw is a small missing part on the upper binding of the neck at a size of 1mm width/6mm long as pictured. The guitar has been featured on a Swiss newspaper as the star of vintage instrument show. A true time capsule - it comes with the hardshell case, belt, the 1957 sales contract, 1957 warranty card and envelope, Gretsch stringbox, Gretsch hangtag and even the original Gretsch guitar cleaning cloth...All vintage and a true collectors piece next to the absolutely great sound this instruments produces! Everybody LOVES this one!
