⭕ This is a Japanese WWll Army officers sword in mountings. The blade is signed Yasunobu ??, dated Showa Jusan-nen Hachi-gatsu kichijitsu ????????? (lucky day, August. 1938), shinogi-zukuri shape, before WWll war time period made blade. Yasunobus real name is Murakami Ensaku, was born in April 1907 in Yamagata prefecture. He studied under Ikeda Yasumitsu at the Nihoto Tanrenkai located on the ground of Yasukuni shrine, made swords during WWll time period and after the war as a Gendai sword smith, listed in John Sloughs book page 187 and rated 1 Million yen. The blade is in old polish with original ububa, no rust, no stain, no scratch and in mint condition. The temper line is wavy chusuguba with choji temper pattern and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is glossy lacquered heavy metal scabbard, no dents, no bend, no lacquer loss and in mint condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no loose, no cut and in good condition. Lock mechanism works fine. Tsuba and seppas are matched ???? writings marked. The blade is longer than standard Yasukunito, measures 27+5/8 tip to the guard, 26+7/8 cutting edge, 1+3/16 width, 7 mm thickness at the notch and 40 in mountings.
